Terms of Use for Equations

These terms apply to the Equations mobile app. By downloading or using the app you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

Your Licence to Use the App

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Equations on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use. You may not sell, rent, sub-licence, or redistribute the app, and you may not reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract its source code except to the extent that applicable law expressly permits it.

We keep all rights in the app that these terms do not explicitly grant you, including its name, artwork, and code.

If you downloaded Equations from the Apple App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User Licence Agreement also applies, and where it conflicts with these terms, it takes precedence.

Equations Pro

Equations is free to download and includes the full solo game. Equations Pro is a single, one-time, non-consumable purchase that unlocks additional modes and features described on the in-app Unlock screen.

A few things worth being clear about:

  • Pro is a licence, not property. Buying it grants you the licence above with the additional features enabled. You are not buying an asset you can transfer or resell.

  • It is tied to your store account, not to your device or to any profile in the app. If you reinstall the app or move to a new device, use the same Apple or Google account and tap "Restore purchase" — or simply open the app, which checks for you.

  • The price you see is the price you pay. It is quoted by Apple or Google in your own currency at the moment you look at it, and it includes any tax they apply. We may change the price for future purchases; that never affects a purchase you have already made.

  • We may change what Pro includes. We expect to add to it over time, but features can also change or be retired as the app evolves and as the platforms change around it.

Payment and Refunds

All payments are taken by Apple or Google, not by us. We never see your card details.

Refunds are therefore handled by the store you bought from, under its own policy:

We cannot issue refunds directly, but if something has gone wrong please contact us at support@lewislgc.com and we will help where we can.

Depending on where you live, you may have a statutory right to cancel a digital purchase. Nothing in these terms removes rights you have under the consumer law of your own country.

Your Game Data

Your progress, scores, streak, profiles and settings are stored only on your device. We do not back them up, and we cannot recover them.

This means that if you uninstall the app, reset the app's data, or lose or replace your device, your progress is gone permanently. Your Pro purchase is not affected — that can always be restored, as described above. See the Privacy Policy for the full detail on what is stored.

Acceptable Use

Please do not use the app in a way that breaks the law, interferes with other users, or attempts to circumvent the purchase mechanism or gain access to paid features without buying them.

Availability and Changes

We may update, change, or discontinue Equations, or any part of it, at any time. We may also update these terms; the current version is always at this address with a revised "Last updated" date, and continuing to use the app after a change means you accept it.

Disclaimers and Liability

Equations is provided "as is". To the fullest extent the law allows, we make no warranty that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose, and we exclude all implied warranties.

To the fullest extent the law allows, our total liability to you arising out of or in connection with the app is limited to the amount you actually paid for it. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost game progress.

Nothing here excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. If you are a consumer, you keep the full benefit of any mandatory rights under the law of your country of residence.

Apple and Google

Apple and Google are not parties to these terms and have no responsibility for the app. They are, however, third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Any claim about the app should be directed to us, not to them.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and the state and federal courts located in Colorado have non-exclusive jurisdiction.

If you are a consumer resident outside Colorado, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory consumer law of your own country or state, and you may bring proceedings there.
