♟️ Rookata — a daily logic puzzle, no chess knowledge required.
One puzzle a day. One piece left standing.
Rookata (Rook + Kata) is a calm, daily brain teaser where you clear a board down to a single piece — and every single move is a capture. It borrows the way chess pieces move, but requires zero chess knowledge. If you can learn how five pieces slide across a board (and we'll show you in five seconds), you can play.
The twist that makes it a puzzle: each piece can only capture twice. So you can't just snake one rook around eating everything — the order of your moves is everything. Every puzzle has a solution, and every loss is a miscalculation you could have spotted. No luck. No guessing.
🧠 Zero luck, pure logic — perfect information, fully deterministic.
⏱️ 30–90 second sessions — a daily habit, not a time sink.
📖 One sentence of rules — if it needs more than a tooltip, it's too complicated.
🧘 Calm by design — no ticking timers, no clutter, no ads.
👨👩👧 Truly all-ages — a newcomer understands it instantly; the puzzles stay genuinely deep.
Clear the board. Leave the last piece. Come back tomorrow.
